Join Us for WE Fishbowls: A New Unique Monthly Collaboration for Washington Evaluators

Introducing WE Fishbowls—a dynamic, solution-focused discussion series! Starting October 16, 2024, these sessions will take place every 3rd Wednesday of the month and are designed to bring our community together to tackle real-world evaluation challenges.

What Are WE Fishbowls?

WE Fishbowls are not your typical discussion groups. They’re a highly structured, interactive forum where up to two members can present an evaluation related challenge they’re facing. The group then collectively dives into understanding the issue, asking clarifying questions to get to the heart of the matter. But here’s where it gets exciting: instead of getting bogged down in the details, we shift quickly to solutions. Participants offer their best advice using the prompt "Try…/ Try…/ Try…," unleashing a wealth of ideas in a supportive, no-judgment space.

The person presenting the challenge is encouraged to listen and take notes, capturing all the innovative solutions offered without filtering or limiting the suggestions. By the end of the session, they’ll have a fresh list of actionable ideas to explore—plus the opportunity to share which two or three strategies they plan to implement.

Whether you’re a seasoned professional or new to the field, this is your chance to actively listen, contribute, and collaborate in a meaningful way.

How to Get Involved

If you have an evaluation challenge you'd like to discuss, simply submit your issue to programs@washingtonevaluators.org. Challenges will be chosen randomly during each session, but remember—you must be in attendance for your challenge to be addressed.

No problem is too big or too small—as evaluators, we’re here to support and elevate each other. Whether you’re dealing with a complex evaluation or just need a fresh set of eyes on a smaller issue, we welcome your participation. **Note: The first WE Fishbowl on October 16th will be open to the public, so you do not need to be a member to attend. Future WE Fishbowls will be for members only.
