Hot Tips: Submitting an AEA Conference Proposal

Led by the Washington Evaluators, March 11, 6:00-7:30pm
**Please note the change in date and time.**

This interactive session for members who want to learn more about tips and tricks for submitting an AEA conference proposal. Drs. Dana Wanzer, Program Co-Chair of the Research on Evaluation Topical Interest Group (TIG), Esther Nolton, Program Co-Chair of the Evaluation Policy TIG, and Gregory Greenman, frequent proposal reviewer for several AEA TIGs, will help you navigate and answer any questions you might have about the process.

We are honored to have Dr. Wanda Casillas moderate this session. She is a current member of the AEA Board and Chair of the 2021 Presidential Program Planning Team. Wanda is a long-time AEA member, contributor, and reviewer of AEA proposals.

Topics that will be covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Topic generation
  • Understanding how to align to the theme
  • Types of conference sessions
  • Selecting the appropriate TIG
  • How to write a strong proposal and understanding the components
  • What reviewers look for in proposals
  • Other considerations

Eval21 is expected to be in Washington, DC this year, which means we are even more excited for WE to have a huge presence on the conference program! This year, AEA President Tom Grayson has chosen "AEA at 35: Meeting the Moment" as the conference theme and we are excited to help you think about how best to draft your proposal to meet the moment of submitting a strong proposal!
