WE 2021 Strategic Planning: Applying Antiracism
Be part of shaping the future of Washington Evaluators. Join meeting facilitators Drs. Amaarah DeCuir and Olatokunbo S. Fashola in applying antiracism principles to envisioning how Washington Evaluators can best fulfill its purpose to provide a regional, interdisciplinary forum for professional development, networking, and exchange of practical, methodological and theoretical knowledge in the field of evaluation. This meeting kicks off a series of informal discussions with the evaluator community that will directly inform the development of the Washington Evaluators 2021 Strategic Plan. The new strategic plan will guide the organization through 2024.
Washington Evaluators is committed to upholding the principles and practices of anti-racism through diversity, inclusion, representation, justice, and equity in our programs, marketing, events, membership, and community engagement. During this meeting, participants will first learn how to operationalize antiracist principles and practices to inform their own evaluation work. The meeting facilitators will introduce participants to three core elements of applying antiracism to strategic planning and will use the meeting to engage in a practical application of these strategies with a focus on contributing to the Washington Evaluators 2021 strategic plan. Participants will be able to contribute to the work of applying antiracism to the strategic priorities of WE in two formats: group discussion and individual comments. The group discussions will be held in a recorded Zoom room with the meeting facilitators, members of the WE board, in addition to participants. Individual comments can be posted asynchronously to an interactive site.
This event is open to WE members and others interested in helping to shape the future of Washington Evaluators. This meeting is repeated from an earlier event held on Jan. 13.
This event is limited to 60 people. Please register by January 20, 2021 to confirm. Directions to connect online will be provided to registered participants a day in advance of the event.
