Evaluation Without Borders: May the Force of Evaluation Be With You

Led by the Washington Evaluators, May 11, 5:30 - 7:30pm ET

Description: Welcome to the kickoff of the 2022 round of Evaluators Without Borders (EWB).  During this session we will provide an overview of the EWB program including purpose, services, commitment, MOU, timeline, and matching process. Then we will segue into rotating breakouts of evaluators and nonprofit/funder groupings to engage in a rapid round of meet & greet, asks & offers and resource shares around evaluation.

Preparation: We ask each attendee to come with one evaluation ask/question and one offer/resource/tool. Provide whatever is top of mind and easily accessible to you, which may include but is not limited to:

  • Evaluation 101 (e.g. purposes, approaches, standards)

  • Evaluation planning (e.g. developing questions, statements of work)

  • Theory-based approaches (e.g. theories of change, logic models)

  • Performance measurement (e.g. indicator design, designing monitoring systems)

  • Data collection instruments (e.g. survey design, interview guides, participatory designs)

  • Data analysis and interpretation (e.g. statistical analysis, qualitative data analysis)

  • Data visualization (e.g. dashboard design, info-graphics)

  • Strategic planning (e.g. mission, vision, goal setting)

  • Collaboration, Learning, and Adaptation (e.g. developing a learning/research agenda)

Audience: evaluators, nonprofit professionals that use/commission evaluation, funders that fund/commission evaluation.
