Different administrations have shaped the role of evaluation in various ways. This panel discussion will explore how evaluation has changed across multiple administrations, with a particular focus on how evaluation was used to influence policy, the unique challenges and success that came from changes in leadership, and what evaluation might look like in the coming years. Our distinguished panelists have experienced these transitions across many administrations, and have a deep understanding of the evolving role of evaluation in their areas of expertise. We invite you to join us on Friday, March 10th, for this lively discussion.

This event is planned in conjunction with TEI’s March 6-18 evaluation training program and is co-organized by the Washington Evaluators and The Evaluators Institute (TEI).

The panel discussion will be introduced and chaired by Tarek Azzam, TEI Director and Associate Professor at Claremont Graduate University.

Panelists will include:

  • Nancy Kingsbury, Managing Director, U.S. Government Accountability Office
  • Joseph Wholey, Professor of Public Administration, University of Southern California
  • Nick Hart, Policy and Research Director, U.S. Commission on Evidence-Based Policymaking
  • Mary Hyde, Director of Research and Evaluation at Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS)
Please join us at 5:45pm for light refreshments and the opportunity to mingle in advance of the panel discussion. The panel will start promptly at 6:30pm. For more information, contact (202) 810-4834.
