Event Description:

Presenter: Chris Hall is a data analytics and AI leader who specializes in translating “tech speak” into plain English. He’s spent his career helping teams use data, automation, and AI to solve real problems - without needing a computer science degree or a tolerance for buzzwords. Chris is also the co-founder of Halliday, where he works with small businesses to explore practical, responsible ways to put AI to work. He’s passionate about helping newcomers realize that AI is not magic and is something they can start using today.

2026 DC Emerging Evaluators Exchange Virtual Conference

Conference Theme: "Navigating Evaluation Careers and Identities"

April 24, 2026 9:00am - 4:00pm ET

This is the registration for the virtual conference. This conference will be held virtually on Zoom with an in-person Networking Event from 6 - 8 pm ET following the conference. To register for the Networking Event, please do so here.

The field of evaluation is evolving, and so are the careers and identities of those who practice it. At the 2026 DC Emerging Evaluators Exchange (DCE3) conference (formerly known as DCSCEP), those at all stages of evaluation careers will reflect on what it means to be an evaluator today. DCE3 is a one-day conference planned by emerging evaluators for emerging evaluators, but you do not have to be an emerging evaluator to attend. Through a keynote address, interactive panel, and student presentations, this conference will explore how to apply evaluative skills across fields and sectors, build careers within and beyond traditional evaluation roles, and communicate the value of this work.

Our goal is to provide students and emerging professionals interested in evaluation and policy with an opportunity to present original research and network with professionals and faculty in those fields. We are excited to host presentations where students enrolled in DC area colleges and universities will have the opportunity to showcase their work.

If you are a DMV-region student or recent alumni with relevant work to share, please see our Call for Proposal for more information about how to submit a proposal for consideration.

The DCE3 Organizing Committee welcomes participants to the conference and looks forward to learning with you and from you during the event!

2026 DC Emerging Evaluators Exchange
Post-Conference Networking Event

April 24, 2026 6:00 - 8:00 pm ET

This registration is for the in-person networking event only. The conference will be held virtually earlier in the day with an in-person networking event following the conference near a metro station in DC. Hot appetizers and beverages will be available. To register for the FREE virtual conference event, please do so here.

Although this networking event is related to the free virtual DCE3 virtual conference, participation in the networking event does not require attendance during the DCE3 conference.

Come ready to meet and greet students and professionals in the field of evaluation and policy from the DC area who may be doing interesting work, hiring, or have other interesting opportunities to learn about. This event is not only for emerging evaluators. It is meant to be a space where emerging evaluators can network with their peers and seasoned professionals. This even is $10 for non-WE members and free for WE members.
